Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. Coleman attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was the head girl. She also received straight As on her A-levels. In response to questions about her Emmerdale character, she said that it is regrettable having not had an experience like the traditional one at university. At the time of her schooling, Coleman was part of a theatre company called In Yer Space with whom she played at the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. Her performance was well-received, and the play was praised by the critics. Coleman was offered the role in the role of Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale while trying out for drama classes in 2005. Coleman was nominated twice in the year 2007. The British Soap Awards she was awarded Best Newcomer. Also, at the National Television Awards she was nominated as The Most Popular Newcomer. In 2009, she was awarded nominated in the two categories which included Best Actress-Sexiest Women and Best Dramatic Performance. Coleman was awarded a Television Choice Award nomination in the category of Best Actress. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman has replaced Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor following Arthur Darvill left the series, would be playing the role of Matt Smith. Moffat picked her to play the role as she performed well with Smith and was able to talk more quickly than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Since 1987, she's worked in film and television projects. She is however, more popular for her television projects rather instead of films. Of the many roles Eva has appeared in, on TV shows Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children and the detective Natalia Boa Vista' in CSI Miami are the two which are the most notable. The first role she played on TV earned her 2 Daytime Emmy nominations, and helped her develop her passion for music. Eva, in addition to being an actress is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist and business owner. She was married three times and has a daughter from her previous husband.
