Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian songwriter and singer. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco is classified as folk, alternative and rock, and has hints of jazz and hip hop. Ani diFranco was among the first artist to launch her own record company in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd 1970. She is the daughter Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco whom she had made acquaintance while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian descent and her mother was from Montreal. Ani diFranco wrote and sang the track 32 Flavors. It is a track from her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's 6th studio release. The song is featured on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized for arranging a conference in Louisiana at an old slave plantation.
