
Kate Hudson is an accomplished actor, most famous for her part as Penny Lane in the Hollywood movie Almost Famous which earned her an Academy Award nomination. She was born into a clan of movie stars and seemed to have a natural flair to be in the spotlight. Her mother, Goldie Hawn, is a well-known film actor while her father, Bill Hudson, is comedian. She was a performer from beginning at a young age. Parents made sure that she had dance lessons, and she also trained at the Santa Monica Playhouse as a child. Her first acting experience came when she was offered a role in the TV drama Party of Five in 1996. While she was admitted to New York University, Kate Hudson was more focused on becoming an entrepreneur in showbiz rather than having a degree. After acting in some minor films, she was offered the role that would turn out to be a turning point in her career. She was chosen to play Penny Lane in the comedy-drama film Almost Famous. The film failed in the box office however it was praised by review from critics. It established Kate as an actress in the American film industry.
