Carrie-Anne Moss

CarrieCarrie-Anne Moss, born August 21, 1967 [1] is a Canadian actress from Canada. Following her first appearance on television her name was brought to international fame for her part in the role of Trinity in The Matrix series (1999-present). She was a part of Memento (2000) in which she won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006) for which she was awarded the Genie Award for Best Performance by an actress in a Supporting Role, Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010), Silent Hill: Revelation (2012) as well as Pompeii (2014). Jessica Jones (2015), 2015-2019) and Unthinkable (2010) included among her TV roles. Moss was in Spain at the time, was offered the role of Tara Marshall, the clerk to the Judge Nicholas Marshall, in Dark Justice. This was her first TV appearance. In 1992, she relocated with the show from Barcelona to Los Angeles. Moss had to leave Dark Justice in the third and final season. She was replaced by Elisa Hingsohn as Samantha Collins. After her return, she was enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. At the academy, she was a model, and later starred in the Fox soap opera Models Inc. The series was cancelled on July 15, 1995. The show was a made-in-Canada show titled Matrix. In the course of the 1990s, she appeared in various television series, like Street Justice, Baywatch, F/X: The Series, and Due South, for which she scored a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest actress in drama. She appeared in numerous B-movies roles throughout the decade, including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill(94), Tough Guy (1994), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (1996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
